The Last Full Game of Don Drysdale’s Scoreless Streak in 1968

This is an AP article and photo on the last complete game shutout of Drysdale’s streak: June 4, 1968 vs. the  Pittsburgh Pirates.

I notice how tall, almost ungainly, Drysdale looks in the photo.

  1. Some bits of trivia to add:
In the two full seasons in the year before this streak, Drysdale had gone a combined 29-32. In the year of the streak, he actually finished with a record of only 14-12, and though his ERA was an impressive 2.15, his ERA+ was a somewhat less impressive 128. But he excelled at keeping the ball in the park surrendering just 11 homers all year in 239 innings.
That streak probably also substantially shortened his career, as he made just 12 starts the following year, then retired at age 32.
